Group brainstorm -- organization tagline
Hey team, time for a group brainstorm! We need a tagline to go with our
name, Defend Public Health. A couple ideas are in the hopper so far, and let’s
get more. Let’s keep it fairly short and simple, so that it can
hopefully be made to fit onto a logo for the group. Here are the current candidates:Lead with science. Defend public health.

DPH Communications Committee 7 weeks agoI started to add some names into the media contact list – if there is a list in another format I would be glad to dump it into the google document/spreadsheet.
A note on local media outlets – they are more likely to work with local sources. Do we have a list of experts, contacts, availability and topics? A local paper in Ohio isn’t going to use…

Media Contact List -- can someone good with Excel lend a hand?
Until we can afford to get our hands on one of the media relations database/outreach systems (which are unfortunately rather pricey), we need to cobble together a list of our own. Happily, we’ve already been provided a podcast list, and I have the start of a list of health and congressional reporters, etc., in a Word doc. I need someone good…

Seems like starting a new discussion called media contact list would be the way to go. Go ahead and include a link to this file and ask if anyone can help. Maybe ask Janet Golden directly, since she put together the original podcast spreadsheet.

Great, but to make this useful as a media contact list it needs some refinements. What’s the most effective way to recruit someone who’s good with Excel and doesn’t mind a bit of fairly tedious grunt work? Post a new thread in the group?

This one is set up in Google Docs, so anyone can edit it. I added a tab for media contacts.

For the time being, until we get a better system (that will cost significant $) I want to create spreadsheets like this for all types of media contacts — one tab for podcasts, another for congressional reporters, etc. I have a start with the smallish list we used for the RFK Jr. release and want to add to it, which right now is just on a Word…

Yes, I think working with local outlets is crucial, and this is a great idea.
