I think we need to find a way to gather and communicate the information that Trump will seek to hide. For example, I saw someone had pulled in flu data from state health departments to replicate the flu reporting information that Trump had shut down. This is Defcon 5.

I have seen social media mentions of people/groups archiving this sort of info before Trump disappears it, but haven’t had time to follow their activities closely. I know folks are out there.

Wholeheartedly agree. State of WA has a superb respiratory illness dashboard which includes wastewater levels of COVID, flu, RSV, ER visits, hospital admissions and deaths. I am wondering if some of this is federally funded because the number of wastewater sites has decreased since November. At this point, we will need to be relying on data from individual states, but that will end up being mainly blue states. I have worked in red state Idaho and they are limited to 3 wastewater sites, a significant decrease since November. Oregon, another blue state continues to have SARS-CoV2 wastewater surveillance. Not only do I worry about current data collection, but archiving the past data needs to be happening stat. We need a technical workforce from within the federal agencies to work on archiving the health data before it gets taken down or manipulated.
